Ben-Gurion University is one of Israel’s leading research universities and among the world leaders in many fields. The department of Materials engineering is the oldest department in Israel. With 10 faculty members it leads research in variety of materials related fields and a teaching program at both the undergraduate (B.Sc.) and graduate (M.Sc, Ph.D.) level with an average of 300 students per year. The IKI at BGU, is a of world-class scientific research center through the development of nanotechnologies conducted by faculty members from the Engineering, Exact Sciences Faculties, the Medical School of the university and its Institutes for Desert Research.

The Bio-electronics and Bio-sensors group is led by Prof. Nurit Ashkenasy and holds expertise in diverse structural and electrical characterization tools of peptide supramolecular assemblies. 

Our role in the e-Prot Project is to screen electron conduction hits and reveal fundamental conduction mechanisms at the molecular, single wire, and thin film level with WP2 Co-leader.
